I like to look at the world and find things that are different and a bit quirky. It all started one day
at the park. I was returning to my car when I saw an older yellow car with an orange canoe
strapped to the top. I loved the colors, and also it left me with questions: where was this person
going to use the canoe? Also the car was not a classic but something that reminded me of my
childhood. I had to recreate it in watercolor, my current medium of choice, which I did painting
first a postcard size rendering then a larger scale piece. I was hooked. I enjoyed the process of
finding unconventional vehicles in t he wild and rendering them in watercolor creating an auto
show of sorts but featuring odd, often older vehicles with additional elements of visual interest.
This is not a show of fancy classic cars but quirky cars, perhaps with a cracked windshield or hauling
additional items on the roof. Through this body of work I want to explore the world around me
and bring my quirky vision of the world to viewers.
